Louis Comfort Tiffany. Evening Landscape. Stained glass. (1910).

The painters like the sunsets. Glass Masters too! It is the moment or the rays of the sun take improbable colors, passing from the yellow to orange, then with the pink, the red, the mauve and the purple one. Louis Comfort Tiffany can work the same piece of glass so that its color changes. In the sky indigo blue is transformed into green then in yellow. In the trees and on the level of wide of water there are splendid variations of the pinks and oranges. For the foliage of the trees the pieces of glass are different but for water glass is of only one holding. To obtain such a result Tiffany adds chemicals during cooking and of cooling, it can also work several layers of glass superimposed to vary the tone of the colors. As it lets pass the light glass has a glare which no painting can equalize. The light effects of a stained glass are inimitable in any case not with a brush. The great painters, in love with the color and its vibrations also were of the glass Masters: Henri Matisse, Marc Chagall, Serge Poliakoff, Alfred Manessier, Pierre Soulages… There is a dimension in the color of glass that the painter, in front of his painting, can never equalize. A furnace should be lit….

The horizon is relatively low, the point of view of the spectator is located at the top of the summits of the trees to far.

This large tree is located on the left superior natural point of interest.

2/3 of pictorial space for the sky, 1/3 for the ground and water.

Work is built on the large ascending diagonal from left to right.
